We’re roughly half way through Europe now and have sampled cuisine from all continental European countries East of Hungary. It’s a toss up between chicken paprikash and goulash as to what is the best known dish to come out of Hungary, both of which are jam packed full of the Hungarian staple Paprika. Kürtőskalács, a cake resembling a chimney which is cooked over an open fire is also well known outside of Hungary if by sight rather than name.
Cosmin’s hometown is 30 miles from the Hungarian border, he knows Hungarian food very well and as such I had another worrying Saturday of cooking. Absolutely no hiding here, if I messed up he would know.
Thankfully I didn’t mess up …and Hungary was goooood.
See below what we cooked, hungry for Hungary yet? Whoops.
