I should imagine that most people (me included prior to the taste trail) would answer either 'the war in the 90s' or 'the country in the Eurovision song contest that nobody can pronounce' when asked what they know about Bosnia and Herzegovina. But oh there is so much more.
Italy is shaped like a boot, well Bosnia is shaped like a heart, which is of course promoted heavily in their tourism literature, and pretty much everything else related to the country. They have a jungle ladies and gents, this small country just west of Italy across the Adriatic sea has a jungle. Mind blown.
They probably don’t have pyramids, but they have a pyramid hoax. Google it.
Foodwise, it’s back to the Austro Hungarian, Slavic, Italian and Ottoman influences. Pies pies pies. Bread bread bread. Cheese cheese cheese and meat, lots of meat.
